Health and Safety
The health and safety policy of All Saints; Church, so far as is reasonably practicable, is to
provide and maintain safe and healthy conditions and equipment. We will endeavour to ensure, so far as is reasonably practicable, the health, safety and welfare of all those who may visit the church and any associated buildings.
Responsibility to ensure that the arrangements outlined in this policy are carried out and updated as necessary is with the Churchwardens, as noted below: -
Mr Tony Hallatt tel. 01625 610060 |
Mrs Chris Campbell-Kelly tel. 01625 261373 |
In the event of an accident
A first aid box is located in the church kitchen which can be used if appropriate. In the case of more serious accidents medical help should be sought. Details of the accident must be entered on the accident record sheet a copy of which is held in the Health and Safety folder in the church kitchen. This form should then be given to one of the church wardens at your earliest convenience.
In the event of a fire
All hirers of church premises should ensure they are familiar with escape routes and ensure these are kept clear and unobstructed. If You Discover a Fire (No matter how small)
- Immediately raise the alarm.
- Telephone the emergency services
- Check the building for occupants.
One of the church wardens (see above) should then be contacted and informed about the nature and possible cause of the fire.
Child Protection
If the premises are hired out for a private party it is the parents responsibility to assure themselves of the safety of their children, not the church’s. The church may decline to hire the premises to anyone they believe may be unsuitable and unlikely to run a safe party.
The church has a safeguarding policy. If the hirer hires the premises on a regular basis then they should either sign to say that they have read and accept the church policy or that they will provide the church with a copy of your own protection policy to go on file.
